Teacher - Ruth

Ruth trained in  Hatha Yoga in 2007 with Sivananda in Woodbourne New York. Since qualifying she has taught several beginners workshops, open classes, 1:1 sessions, kids yoga  & relaxation workshops.  She has completed advanced practical training in the Bahama's in January 2010 and has also trained in Yoga of Recovery in February 2010. Completed Rainbow Kids Yoga September 2011.  More recently she completed her mindfulness course for self practice and youth mindfulness with the view to teach in schools.

The main reason I started  going to yoga classes was because I wanted to lose weight.  Although I lost more than a few pounds, I learned that it's was not just about the exercise.  It was a personal journey of discovering the real me,  it enhanced and improved skills to help me cope with day to day challenges. The list is endles of the benefits you receive, however, in reality you have to see for yourself if its something you want to incorporate into your daily lifestyle. Last year i gave up my job as an recovery worker in Addictions to teach yoga more regularly.  It has been challenging but i would not change it for the world!

My advice is to try different yoga styles and to go to more than 1 class and style,  I initially practiced Vinyasa and Ashtanga, It took me more than a few sessions before I started to enjoy it and relax properly!  All yoga is good, yoga is for all, but not all yoga poses are for all, you have to adapt and adjust and just be present....
